I was reading Macirone's Interesting Facts Relating to the Fall and Death of Joachim Murat, and, whilst it is mostly about Murat (!), it contains the suggestion that Berthier was killed by assassins settling scores rather than "falling from a window". Is this just gossip, or is there any other account that can back this up?
