Colonel Bouthmy, commander of the 120th Regiment of Line Infantry, was killed in action on 31 August 1813 at Bidossa, Irun, Spain.
As his 4x great grandson I am interested in what would have happened to him thereafter? If anyone has any idea, I would be most grateful to hear them please!
I am just starting to really look into his service now. The French military archives have sent the most amazing service records and I am now trying to add flesh to the these bones, hopefully with the help of you good, and knowledgeable, folks!
These are the troop personnel registration records (sous series 21yc). Officer records are sous series 2yb. In the table that I am going to send you, they are both combined.
Antonio, again this is great! Are these summaries of subalterns service records? Is there a search function for a particular officer/action?
Thank you again Antonio! This is a great resource.

Antonio,
This is great thank you very much! This is very interesting, having used a primitive translator website I am clear on but "rayes / raves", and "OB" what are these please? Do you know if there is a way to down load the tables into, say, excel or similar?

That is brilliant, thank you very much!
This doesn't answer your question but you will find some info about Bouthmy and 120e régiment d'infanterie de ligne...

I don't think searching by the name would work, but you have to try. Also place names shouldn't be a problem. You probably need to play around with words and combinations of words. Use Google Translate to get Spanish equivalents.
This is great, thank you. Do you know a search that I can use that may bring up some useful information please? My Spanish/Basque is non-existent.

That is brilliant, many thanks! Does anyone know what his comrades / enemies would have done with his body after his death?

Thanks Garry, no I have not seen this book or the reference to him.
Have you seen his entry in 'Dictionnaire des colonels de Napoleon', D et B. Quinton pp132-3? Unfortunately it doesn't say anything about his burial.
