Volunteers for saving material from the old forum

    in General Discussions

Dear all, You will all be aware that the old Napoleon series forum is going to cease to exist from 1st March. There is a vast amount of material there, much of it is worth saving. I'm still discussing options with Bob, but one option might be to copy old threads into word documents, which I could then upload to a separate section of the website (not directly in the forum, but stored in such a way that they might still be able to be searched). The issue is that this is a huge task, which would require a lot of work. I don't KNOW if we are going to follow this course of action, but if you might be interested in helping with this task, please post your name below so that I can know if we have enough volunteers to form a 'forlorn hope' for the task!

I'm investigating a way to save the posts on the old NS, but I won't say more until I see what it looks like. There may or may not be a way search for posts, but possibly if it would get "spidered" by Google, it would be searchable that way. Right now its just tentative and if anyone else has plans to save the posts, go ahead and save it. Having multiple sites might help to preserve it long-term.
