I’m amazed, bearing in mind the well ‘publicised’ self righteousness on maritime freedom given as the Casus Belli of the war of 1812, the US did not go to war with Naples. I’t also puts paid to the apparent support for America by Napoleon. imagined by some. This was carried out with at least his tacit approval. Just goes to show that to Napoleon his only overriding principle was the needs of Napoleon.
