The Old Fort Niagara Association
This organization, based at Old Fort Niagara in upper New York state along Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Niagara River, is an excellent source of outstanding narratives, most of them primary sources, of the war of 1812.
Some of their titles are:
-Soldiers of 1814: American Enlisted Men's Memoirs of the Niagara Campaign, edited by Donald Graves.
-Captain George Howard, United States Army: The Chronicles of a Connecticut Yankee on the Northern Frontier in the War of 1812 by Gregory Kloten.
-Green Coats and Glory: The United States Regiment of Riflemen 1808-1821 by John Fredericksen.
-Sailors of 1812: Memoirs and Letters of Naval Officers on Lake Ontario edited by Robert Malcomson.
-Long Range Guns, Close Quarter Combat: The Third United States Artillery Regiment in the War of 1812 by Richard Barbuto.
-First Campaign of an ADC: The War of 1812 Memoir of Lieutenant William Jenkins Worth, United States Army by Donald Graves.
-To My Son...The Life and War Remembrances of Captain Mordecai Myers, 13th United States Infantry 1812-1815 by Neil Yetwin.

We were there in 2016 and the fort and the reenactors were impressive-as was the bookstore. Fort Erie is also well-worth a visit. Parks Canada does an excellent job.
