@Immo Frese While I was quite convinced that Moscow was set on fire by the Russian administration - I cannot come any longer to that clear conclusion after reading Mikaberidzes Burning of Moscow, which paints a much more complex picture, and again Moscow would not burn if Boney did not invade it - so who invaded and caused all the sorrow - that also the defender and their population had to bear, here we find the culprit - I cannot remember that Paris was burned, only poor old Blücher wanted to just blow up one bridge.
