General Online Resources, Making the Revolution: America, 1763-1791, Primary Sources for Teachers, America in Class, National Humanities Center

After accessing this site, go to 'online resources' and there are various topics on the American Revolution from the Library of Congress, the US National Archives, the National Park Service, the Smithsonian (three sites), the National Endowment for the Humanities, and others, including the British Library, which, interestingly, refers to the period as the American Revolution.

I don't like to use acronyms in historical discussions. The War of the Revolution is correct for the American Revolution. The Revolutionary Wars or the French Revolutionary Wars are quite specific, and there were more than one-there were two coalitions against French from 1792-1801.

Was the War of the Revolution (or if you prefer The War of the American Revolution) was indeed a world war after France, Spain, and Holland entered the war against the British.

And that fact is broached in more than one history of the war.
