General Discussions

On 15 October 1811 the French governor of Ciudad Rodrigo was captured by Spanish guerrillas. Oman and many other sources give his name as General Renaud. Does anyone know his full name and actual rank?

I have checked Oman's History of the Peninsular War, Georges Six's Generaux et Amiraux Francais, and Quinton's Dictionaire des Colonels de Napoleon and could not find it.
