A few year's ago, following the passing away of a family member, I came into the possession of letters and documents left by my wife's maternal ancestor, Samuel Bernard (1773 - 1853), one of the young savants, and Bonaparte's chemistry tutor at the time, recruited for the Egyptian Campaign. As I am a keen history reader (and apparently the first such in the family to lay his hands on these documents) I delved in headlong to research this man and his relationship with Bonaparte. Dozens of books and hundreds of hours of research later, I have poured my findings, integrating the new information gleaned from Samuel Bernard's documents and letters, into a fictionalised but plausible reconstruction of his life.
My question is, if it's acceptable to the members of this forum for me to provide you with a link to my book?
Thanks in advance for an honest answer,
Jan
Dear Jan, please do - it sounds very interesting! Kind regards Zack White (Website Owner)
Thanks for the heads up Zack! Much appreciated. The book is called "Six Songs for Bonaparte" and you can find it here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0863S7P8J (US)
or here https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0863S7P8J (UK). The look inside function is active so you can sample some of the writing and some of the documents (at the back). You can also download it onto your Kindle or laptop (installing the Kindle reading app onto your pc is free).
And of course, I'll be more than happy to answer members' questions about the Egyptian Campaign, the savants, etc... to the best of my abilities.
Best regards,
Jan
