It's curious, when the soldier describes the pursuit of the retreating French after dark and the "cornfields along a vast track of country," as well as the reduction of Pack's brigade, it seems almost as if he is referring to Waterloo rather than Quatre Bras. ( BL 'Learning. English Timeline' - "Casualties were heavy: 15,000 dead or wounded from the 23,000 British; 7,000 Prussians; and 25,000 French, with 8,000 of them taken prisoner. Napoleon was one of them..." H'm. Mission to inform?)
Very interesting, more about Quatre-Bras though.
