So, I bought a shako/Casquette from the second french empire, and some experts told me that it a chasseurs D'Afrique, but there is a eagle insign on it, what do you guys think? do you know what it is?

The 2 massive rivets through the wings are unusual to say the least. None of the surviving examples photographed in 'Waterloo Relics' [G Bernard & G Lachaux] and 'Waterloo in 100 Objects' [G Glover] show rivets, they show the use of wire [or pairs of holes for wire] in 4 places, 1 pair in each wing [where the rivets have been placed] and 1 pair each side of the lower plate. I don't think the plate and cap belong together.
