I have been moving slowly, but still able to get some research done through the week. I have been lucky to receive the 2YB folders from my anonymous donor and XB folder for the 17e Ligne from Paul Dawson. With their generous help, and research on the controls de troupes from the memoirsdeshommes website, as well as Base Leonore, I was able to piece together this information on the 17e Ligne in April 1809. First, a list of officers from the Etat-Major of the three war battalions taken from the État Nominatif for the month of April 1809.
Colonel Jacques-Joseph Oudet (36): The former Major of the 63e Ligne, he arrived at the head of the regiment only on 1 April 1809 and was wounded first on 18 April in front of Ratisbonne (Regensburg) and then on 20 April at the Battle of Abensberg. He would not survive the campaign as he was mortally wounded at the Battle of Wagram on 6 July 1809 and would die of wounds on 7 July 1809.
