The Young Guard Cavalry units of the Old Guard Cavalry did not carry eagles, could they carry other étendards - remains speculation, did such exist, there are a few known like for Grenadiers à Cheval or Mameluckes.
According the Souvenirs of Lt. Chevalier the Eagle of the Chasseurs à Cheval de la Garde Imériale - the pole carrying it was gilded and not painted blue as usually, this is in the book by Charrié, p. 181, as well as other details.
