Strategic goals of 1796 for Campaign in Germany?
While Carnot formulated very well the strategic aims and how to achieve them for Italie, see for example in Krebs Morris - which were then realized by the new général en chef Bonaparte - is there a similar document for the Campaign in Germany of 1796 - what did the French aim for?
I believe that Carnot's plan for the German campaign in 1796 was a rehash of the plan for 1795.
thank you - I will have a look
I found some information about a plan of Carnot for the two armies Sambre-et-Meuse (commanded by Jourdan) and Rhin-et-Moselle (commanded by Moreau) in the 6th volume of Victoires, Conquetes, ... published in 1818 - at Gallica via: https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k36717p
At pages 24-26 the plan is shortly described, the pages before give partly a summary of the situation France is facing.
Perhaps this information is at least of some help ... greetings from Berlin

A pity that there are no suggestions, any readable account about this campaign then?
There were quite big armies involved, Moreau and Jourdan with about 80,000 each, Karl with about 94,000 and Wurmser of about 83,000 and the Austrian creating the luxury of 80,000 soldiers in Bohemia to observe the Prussians (who conveniently dropped out of the first coalition in 1795) - so white all hot winds are known from the Italian campaign, 1796 in Germany seemingly did not happen???
