The latest book is set during winter quarters of 1812-13 and the storyline is split into two parts. One section looks at army politics during the period, which is woven into the lives of several central characters but there's a sub plot around crime and punishment which is threatening to get out of control (and I think we all know who to blame for that, I'm looking at you, Z White) The other part of the book takes place in the unrest of northern Spain and culminates with the storming of Castro Urdiales by the French.
A side project, is the translation of this little book about Charles Alten that I think Rob Griffith found online for me. My German is rusty, so it's a slow process, but I'm enjoying it and hope to share the results with the world when it's done.
