My Current Project is a book on the battles of Arroyomolinos and Almaraz

    in General Discussions

I'm in the final stages of prepping the book for submission to the publisher, Helion. It's been an interesting project as the two actions haven't been covered in detail before, and it will include previously unpublished accounts and letters. Sadly, French first hand accounts of either action are hard to find. I've got some Spanish sources, but not as many as I'd like. The Portuguese contribution is only covered by an account of an British officer serving with them.

It was particularly interesting to study Hill in more detail. As you'd expect he comes across as the thoroughly nice chap, but also one who was prepared to be daring and take risks.

It should be published later this year.

    Replying to

Narrative of the Service of Lt. Col. Richard Brunton, National Army Museum 1968-07-461 - I've got images of it up until 1813 if you are interested. It's only a few pages. He was with 6th Caçadores.
