Utterly loathed by the men who had to wear it, apparently. Rumford was definitely a "curate's egg" of a War Minister.
very interesting, looks similar to the French soup, Rumford also designed a quite unusual uniform for the Bavarian Army, discontinued however in about 1799 / 1800
