Hello again Paul
Sorry if I appear to be harassing you, for I don't mean to. I wonder if you've had opportunity to take a look at the muster rolls of the 1/40th yet? I'm writing an article on a number of local men who served during the period and it would be nice to obtain more certain information about Benjamin Ball's service - if possible. All I have at the moment is a letter from his sister which provides no more information than I've shared here already.
By the way, do you know from which militia battalion your ancestor enlisted? Was he a Somerset man?
