    Colonel Robinson

    in General Discussions

I'm looking for some details of a Colonel Robinson (or Lieutenant-Colonel), active in Messina and Sicily in 1814 and 1815. Could anyone provide his first names and if he left any correspondence?

He sounds like the one, in charge of some gunboats in Messina in 1814 and 1815. Many thanks!

He seems to have discovered the ruins of Oplontis, just south of Naples.

Thanks for this. An interesting career, but he died a bit early in 1815 and this one was till in Sicily in October 1815. Thanks though!
