Though knowing loads of them, it is always a pleasure to see some new ones, the Prussian grenadiers with white around the grenadier caps looks quite odd, did he see any?
Here some others - not so well known
and
The last one is pretty amazing. I am only guessing, but it seems the Saxon Dragoon is having his horse taken by the French. Very emotional I am sure for man to give up his horse.
@Michael Lint
Indeed, he wanted to blow his brains out, because, no his horse was not taken by the French, he had to give it to them.
The French, being true comrades - prevented this.
@Hans - Karl Weiß I was aware the Prussians had to hand over their horses to the French, but not the Saxons who were Allies at Jena. Interesting!
The Prussians lost their horses - when becoming POWs , but with Saxony very soon peace was established (the Saxons were allied initially to the Prussians), an alliance, the Saxon Kurfürst - elector prince was elevated to royal status and became a king and the Saxons took already part in the 1807 campaign on the French side.
Of course all those goodies to the Saxons had their price as well.
