I am looking for a few letters that, back in 1915, were in the Earl of Crawford's collection. I suspect they were part of a set sold off by Sotheby's in the 1920s.
So far I have been able to track down a sales catalogue that covers the sale of the parts of the collection relating to the period of the Revolution and the Consulate (First and Second Portion). This is the catalogue
Catalogue of the renowned collection of autograph letters and historical documents, illustrating the history of the French revolution & Napoleon Bonaparte, formed by the late Earl of Crawford and Balcarres, K.T. ... the first portion, covering the period to the end of the convention (November 1795).
Creator:
Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge.
Date:
1924
But I have failed to find a catalogue for the rest of the collection beyond 1800ish. My interest is the year 1815. I suppose this must have been Fourth or Fifth Portion.
Can anyone help?
Best wishes
Jonathan
